Childish Gambino w/ Danny Brown at the Tabernacle-Atlanta, GA

Childish Gambino
The Tabernacle has seen many a great show, but none quite as thrilling and crowd pleasing as the Childish Gambino performance last night. But before we get to that, the night opened with Detroit native, Danny Brown. A new sound for young ears, Brown took the stage and gave the crowd slightly different taste of hip hop, which left several concert goers contemplating his lyrics, style, and performance. The energy in the Tabernacle was sub-par, but overall, Danny Brown did get the crowd going with a somewhat solid performance.
From the second Donald Glover came out on stage until long after the speakers rang silent, the entire venue roared and cheered. Truly a night to remember for attending fans as Gambino’s mind blowing band was in full force with matching the overwhelming energy that was present on stage. This immense energy was brought to life through paired visuals on a projection screen and an assortment of stage lights. Childish Gambino performed a variety of his songs from old to new which his hometown gave justice by reciting every lyric. If the electricity in the Tabernacle wasn’t already through the roof, when the beat dropped for Freaks and Geeks, the entire venue erupted. Childish Gambino delivered an amazing performance that left the audience wanting more even after his exciting encore.
